Τα τελευταία χρόνια, η ιρανική πειραματική μουσική σκηνή είναι μια από τις πιο δραστήριες και δημιουργικές παγκοσμίως. Αυτό μπορεί να ακούγεται “παράδοξο” για εμάς που ζούμε στη Δύση, αλλά το πλήθος των ονομάτων, και κυρίως η ποιότητα που χαρακτηρίζει τις δουλειές τους, πιστοποιούν το αρχικό συμπέρασμα. Δεν είναι όμως μόνο η μουσική, αλλά και η άρθρωση ενός πολύτιμου λόγου πάνω στον τρόπο που εκφράζονται και που ζουν στην καθημερινότητα τους, που μας έχουν κάνει να βλέπουμε αυτή τη σκηνή με ένα έντονο μουσικό, μα και πολιτικό ενδιαφέρον.

Οι 9T Antiope είναι ένα ντουέτο που αποτελείται από την Sara Bigdeli Shamloo και τον Nima Aghiani. Η ιδιαίτερη μουσική τους μας είχε τραβήξει το ενδιαφέρον από το πρώτο τους κιόλας EP, πράγμα που μας κάνει να νιώθουμε ιδιαίτερη τιμή για αυτό το αποκλειστικό mix τους, το οποίο επικεντρώνεται κυρίως στο νέο αίμα της εν λόγω σκηνής. Για την ιστορία, το mix περιλαμβάνει, μεταξύ άλλων, και ένα κομμάτι των Siavash Amini και Pouya Pour-Amin που υπήρχε αποκλειστικά στην τέταρτη συλλογή μας! Καλή ακρόαση.

Over the recent years, the Iranian experimental music scene is one most active and creative scenes worldwide. This may sound a bit “paradoxical” for those of us living in the West, yet the multitude of artists, and especially the quality of their releases, validate our initial conclusion. It’s not just the music, though; it’s also the statement of a invaluable discourse on how they express and live their daily lives that urges to examine this scene with a great amount of interest, as regards both its musical and its political aspects.

9T Antiope is a collaborative duet formed by Sara Bigdeli Shamloo and Nima Aghiani. Their particular brand of music had sparked our interest from their very first EP; in this sense, we are extremely honored to have been given this exclusive mix of theirs, which focuses mainly in new bands and artists from the Iranian scene. For the record, this mix includes, among others, a piece of music by Siavash Amini and Pouya Pour-Amin that was featured exclusively in Against The Silence’s fourth compilation! Enjoy the music.
